
SMART Software Sales Person
Job Description
SMART software is developed, marketed and supported by Generalsoft Ltd, a private company incorporated 2001. Generalsoft specialises in business solutions specifically for the retail, contract and manufacturing elements of the Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedroom and Home Office industry. SMART is a semi back office Business and Operational Management system. Our current business plan calls for the appointment of additional Software Sales Personnel to augment the existing team by developing new business and supporting existing customers in all areas of the country.
Typical Work Activities
The appointee will be home based within the operational area and will need the qualities of self motivation, being organized and focused. SMART marketing activities are in place to help generate brand awareness and quality leads. The existing SMART database is as up to date as possible and contains a significant percentage of the target market. It is expected though that the majority of business is self generated.
- Meeting sales targets
- Cold & Bold calling.
- Maintain comprehensive records in SMART CRM
- Set up and maintain a contact programme for existing customers
- Promote SMART into regional Distributors and Manufacturers.
- Networking with Industry representatives.
- Design and implement regional road shows
- Effective liaising with other departments. i.e. SMART support team, SMART development and SMART Training
- Attendance on stand at Trade Exhibitions
- Regular reading of all available trade magazines
Qualifications
Skills and personal qualities, such as an aptitude for IT, well- developed interpersonal skills and in depth Sales Experience are generally more important than academic qualifications. However, Sales, Marketing or Business qualifications may be helpful.
Candidates will need to show evidence of the following;
- Up to date knowledge of common IT applications and systems
- Outstanding presentation skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good organisational and planning skills
- Patience and confidence
- Self motivation and the ability to motivate others
- A willingness to learn
- Clean driving licence
- Experience in this industry sector helpful but not essential

Location
SMART Systems are located in Ascot, Berkshire. Our market is currently the whole of the UK and Ireland. The appointee will be based in the Manchester region but will periodically be expected to travel to Ascot for the likes of Sales meetings, training etc.
Training
SMART Systems places great emphasis on personnel training, both internal and external. It is actively encouraged to seek out training courses that will help improve the delivery of our products to the customer.
Remuneration
SMART Systems has a growing repeat revenue stream through annual Support and Maintenance contracts from existing Customers. Part of the remuneration package consists of a percentage of the existing revenue from the allotted region. OTE, from sales to new customers and including the aforementioned, will be £39K pa. There is no ceiling on commission paid.
Reporting
It is envisaged that the position reports directly to the Board of Directors with “dotted lines” to specific senior management.
Miscellaneous
A fully expensed Audi A3 will be provided immediately together with a fuel card and Sat Nav. A Laptop with 3G and a PDA are also available.
It will be necessary for the appointee to have a Broadband connection at the “home office” location
